From the start, we at GrassMar have been driven by our responsibility to minimize our environmental footprint and the idea that sustainability should be at the heart of our operations. Packaging, a part of the product life cycle often glossed over, is an area we knew needed our attention. That's why we've made the conscious choice to source materials for our packaging that are as eco-friendly as possible, standing out from the crowd in an industry that often overlooks this crucial aspect.
Compostable Packaging: Going Full Circle
Our packaging is designed with the environment in mind. The paper bags we use are crafted from 100% post-consumer recycled material, while our cellophane bags are made from compostable plant material. Even the natural twine we use is compostable, contributing to our mission of full-circle sustainability.
Innovative Labeling: A Step Further in Environmental Responsibility
What sets us further apart is our innovative approach to labeling. Traditional ink often contains harmful metals and chemicals, contributing to environmental pollution. We've painstakingly sought out a solution and found thermal printers eschew the use of ink, but we didn't stop there. Most thermal paper contains BPA or other harmful chemicals, so we put extra effort into finding eco-friendly labels that are compatible with our thermal printers, ensuring our packaging remains as eco-friendly as possible from start to finish.

The journey towards sustainability isn't a simple one, and it's filled with challenges, but we've taken on these challenges from day one, and we remain committed to our mission. The decisions we make at GrassMar prioritize our planet's well-being – from sourcing packaging components primarily from within the US to reduce transportation-related carbon emissions, to choosing 100% home-compostable materials.
